Cleary's Pharmacy provides corporate Covid booster & Flu vaccine clinics, to give your team the best protection from illness this Winter. Covid booster vaccines are available to eligible patients and are always free of charge.

In Autumn 2024, Flu vaccines will be available free of charge to:

• age 60 and older

• age 2 to 17

• a healthcare worker

• pregnant

• living in a nursing home or other long-term care facility

• in regular contact with pigs, poultry or waterfowl

• someone with a health condition that puts you at higher risk of flu (age 6 months and older)

• living with someone who has a health condition that puts them at higher risk of flu

• a carer for someone who has a health condition that puts them at higher risk of flu

Private flu vaccines (€30) are available to those not eligible for a free HSE vaccine.

Getting the flu vaccine - HSE.ie

Cleary's Pharmacy, in conjunction with the HSE, provides free children's nasal flu vaccines onsite in Galway primary schools, secondary schools and childcare centres.

 Vaccine uptake rates are significantly increased when clinics are provided in the school and childcare setting. 

57% of primary schools offered an onsite flu vaccine service to their students in 2025/26.

In Autumn 2024, our experienced vaccination team vaccinated children from Junior Infants to 6th class in many local primary schools.

In Autumn 2025, this service expanded to include secondary schools and creches.

Schools and Childcare centres choose Cleary's Pharmacy as we provide a complete service, with minimal disruption to teachers or school staff. All we require is a room in your school - we take care of the rest.

The Shingles vaccine is recommended for anyone aged 50 years and older.

Shingrix

Two doses are required, two months apart, to complete the vaccination course.

The cost is €243.50 per dose.

The total cost is €487.

 

Studies have shown that four months after two doses of the Shingrix vaccine that its efficacy at preventing shingles was as follows:

• Aged 50 to 69 years 100%

• Aged 70 to 79 years 93%

• Aged 80 years and older 71%
